LONG TERM VOLUNTEER-SHIP PROGRAM OPPORTUNITY

The Center for Health, Human Rights and Development (CEHURD) currently has opportunities under its long term Volunteer-ship Program. The opening is for three competitive positions under its three programs. Ideal Candidates should have commitment to work with a dynamic Human Rights Organization.

Under the volunteer-ship arrangement, the selected candidates bring their professional skill sets and work with one of CEHURD’s programs for a period of 6 – 12 months. The arrangement involves mentorship opportunities for the candidates to gain valuable experience and advice for career development in research, advocacy and litigation in the field of health and human rights. The candidate will contribute towards the following strategic goals of CEHURD:
• Engaging with duty-bearers and communities (rights-bearers) to ensure increased participation for an enabling policy and legislative environment and a transparent and accountable health system that respects human rights and the right to health;
• Increased participation in an enabling policy and legislative environment, and a transparent and accountable health system, that respects human rights and the right to health;
• Empowering and protecting the health rights of the vulnerable and marginalised groups to increase participation, transparency and accountability; and
• Protecting the vulnerable and empower the disadvantaged
