Today July 4, 2014, the High court of Uganda will give its ruling in the miscellaneous application filed by the Center for Health Human Rights and Development (CEHURD) against C.C.C.C, NEMA and Mukono District Local Government for violation of rights to health and right to clean and healthy environment
Health Committees as vehicles for community participation: Release from a Regional Consultation 28th September 2014
The Learning Network for Health and Human Rights, in conjunction with the Network on Equity in Health in East and Southern Africa (EQUINET) held a 2-day regional consultation on the Role of Health Committees in Equitable, People-centred Health Systems in the Southern and East African region just prior to the Third Global Symposium on Health Systems Research. The regional consultation took place in Cape Town and was supported by the International Development Research Council (IDRC).
Constitutional amendement
Civil society Organisations (CSOs) working on the right to health in Uganda have today 5th December 2014 made submission to the Uganda Law reform Commission (ULRC) appealing to government to consider amending the constitution and include the right to the highest attainable standard of physical and mental health into the supreme law of the country
