Philip Okello Apira is the Director Business Development at the Center for Health, Human Rights and Development (CEHURD), with 23 years of progressive career development in strategy, business development, supply chain, marketing, health programming, partnership and multi-sectoral collaboration management, leadership, grant management, resources mobilisation, and sustainable development.
Philip is a multi-sectoral expert and a seasoned public health professional with a passion for improving health outcomes in Uganda and beyond.
Richard is the Director of programmes at Center for Health, Human Rights and Development (CEHURD).
He is a project management professional with over 15 years of success in leading programme development and driving team/operational improvements. He is proficient in application of human and social sciences across legal, education, health, ICT and similar sectors.
Richard has spearheaded establishment of the Legal Aid Service Providers Network, worked as a Country Representative of the Hague Institute for Innovation of Law in Uganda, co-founded the Landcode Initiative, among others. He is a member of Amnesty International, the Grassroots Justice Network, the Legal Empowerment Network, and the Inter Agency Working Group on Reproductive Health in Crises.
Juliet Naome Namusoke is an accountant by profession with special skills in management of financial systems, management of multi donors, budgeting and budget monitoring, and external audit supervision. She is ACCA accredited, holds a Master of Business Administration degree, BSc Accounting, Accounting Technician Certificate, and Diploma in Business Management and Administration.
Juliet is skilled in preparation of consultancy and partnership agreements, drafting of organizational policies, financial systems review, procurement systems management and monitoring compliance for effective internal controls
Zaitun Nalukwago is the Executive Assistant at CEHURD. She supports the Executive Director and the
Senior Management Team through interaction and taking forward processes at a strategic level with
Senior Management Team, Managers and CEHURD’s partners and stakeholders. She joins CEHURD with extensive experience in executive communication, administration, networking and NGO support among other things.
Zaitun is a journalist by profession and has worked with the media as well as the NGO sector with her latest being the Palliative Care Association of Uganda where she served as an Administrative Assistant and later as Communications and Fundraising Officer. She has a passion for making a positive change in society.
Zaitun holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass communication from the Islamic University in Uganda.
Florence Matovu Nakanwagi is a human resource expert whose specialty includes providing strategic direction, developing organizational structures, job analysis, evaluation and grading to ensure internal equity and design of reward policies.
For the last 15 years, she has put that expertise to use in several organisations across a range of sectors. From transport and healthcare to banking, from where she joins us, her ingenuity and adaptive approach to solving challenges has stayed with these organisations.
Ms. Nakanwagi has a Masters in Human Resources Management- Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University. Holds a Bachelor’s in Education (MUK), is experienced in Information Systems Management, Guidance and Counseling, Management, Skills Improvement and Recruitment. She is a member of the Uganda Human Resource Managers’ Association.
