Programme Associate, Strategic Litigation

Komakech Job is a Lawyer with interest in health systems governance, mental health and access to medicine. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Laws LLB (Hons) from Uganda Christian University Mukono, a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from Law Development Center Kampala and is currently an LLM candidate at Makerere University Kampala.

Komakech Job is a Lawyer with interest in health systems governance, mental health and access to medicine. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Laws LLB (Hons) from Uganda Christian University Mukono, a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from Law Development Center Kampala and is currently an LLM candidate at Makerere University Kampala.

Job has been involved in litigating several right to health cases including access to medicine cases which, among others, challenges government’s failure to ensure regular supply of essential drugs to people living with HIV, the petition challenging government’s failure to provide shelter to survivors of sexual and gender based violence. He has provided legal support to Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners’ Council in the conduct of disciplinary hearing against medical practitioners.

He is a member of the People’s Health Movement Uganda Chapter and participated in the 4th People’s Health Movement Assembly in Bangladesh. He was also part of a training on the impact of the Global Gag rule organized by Center for Health and Gender Equity in Johannesburg.
