Request for an Extension of the TRIPS Transition period

In recognition of the special needs and requirements of LDCs, in particular their need for flexibility to develop a viable technological base and to overcome constraints, the TRIPS Agreement (Article 66.1) allows LDCs to seek an extension of the transition period.
