The Center for Health, Human Rights and Development (CEHURD), the Ministry of Health of Uganda, Makerere University School of Public Health, hosted the Inaugural Uganda National Conference on Health, Human Rights and Development (UCHD) at Mestil Hotel, Kampala-Uganda, between 27th to 29th of September 2023. The conference which was held under the theme; “The Right to Health: A Vital Component in Achieving SDGs”, facilitated an understanding of the trends and progress being made on the Right to Health in Uganda to realize SDGs and accelerate further action.
As an outcome of the conference, the delegates agreed on “The Kampala Declaration on Health, Human Rights and Development” highlighting key commitments.
The delegates reaffirmed their commitment and efforts towards advocating for the right to health as a fundamental part of human rights and human dignity.
